Active control of yaw and roll via thrusters is the only reason such a top-heavy ship can maintain stability on the open sea in less-than-perfect conditions. It's a technology that's been in commercial use for some time now, but one shudders at the thought of a catastrophic failure in the system or encounter with a storm severe enough to exceed the capabilities. Yes, the chances are slim - but they're certainly not zero. I'll be waving from the dock. Well, let’s hope that this new ship proves to be superior to the Titanic.
